Updates:
Genesius Project is no longer together. The few months that I was a part of it were fun, and I learned a lot about silk screen printing and working in a collective, while getting to meet some really cool people.
I have started to print on double frosted mylar. So far the experiments have come out rather nicely, and I'm pretty excited about them. You can see some finished works in the Prints gallery. I'm enjoying the translucency of the mylar, allowing me to create prints with multiple grounds.
This fall I will be teaching a class at Main Line School Night. Here's the course description:
RELIEF PRINTMAKING
Master the basics, or expand your knowledge, of relief printmaking, the
medium of such great artists as Durer, Hokusai, Masereel, and Kollwitz. Learn
handprinting techniques for continued work at home without a large press.
Cutting tools, one each rubber starter and linoleum blocks, printing and
proofing papers, inks and rollers provided; supply fee ($30) payable to
instructor in first class.
It's my first course of this nature, so I'm keeping it somewhat short, and then I'm going to work from there. If all goes well, I hope to be teaching the next semester, maybe even doing some Color Reduction prints. As the course description states, it's open to whomever is interested, rookies and veterans alike. I need at least 6 people to take the class for it to be accepted, so if you're interested, maybe bring a friend. I don't know what the cost of the course will be, but I'll post it when I have the information.
